My Review

I thoroughly enjoyed Security by Mandy Baggot when I participated in the blog tour back in April 2013. I was excited to read Made In Nashville, the premise sounded very intriguing and who can turn down rockstars? I loved the characters and world building that Ms Baggot created, Honor was a broken woman that became an Agoraphobic and when she found love, she found the courage to step outside her comfort zone.

Ten years ago, Honor Blackwood was attacked on-stage during a concert and ever since, the now twenty-eight year old, has a severe fear for being in public. Now working in a small music store, Honor still writes songs but they just sit in a drawer at home.

The disfigurement of her injury causes her daily worry and even after twenty operations, Honor still feels ugly and distressed to be seen. Her advisor, Larry is still trying to bring her out and get her to make a new album, but she just can’t do it.

Jared Marshall is a serial bachelor and currently sits on top of the country music charts. Going on tour soon, he’s looking for a supporting ac and his advisor, Buzz has a lot of ideas, but when Jed hears an angel’s voice on the radio, he wants that angel.

Honor is at work and fiddles with a song while waiting for customers. That’s where Jared finds her, just singing to herself and playing a guitar. It’s her, his angel in the flesh. Honor is startled when she hears the door open, lost in her music. Jed wants to try a guitar and Honor is amazed that this man that looks like a hobo is a phenomenally gifted musician.

When he introduces himself, Honor already knew he is THE Jed Marshall, she sells so many of his albums in store. Jared tells Honor he wants her for his supporting act on tour. Of course Honor refuses, but Jared is determined to change her mind.

Jared is resolved to get Honor on his tour and continues to chase her. He follows her to a bar and Honor runs into her ex-boyfriend who will also be her competition. It’s not a friendly meeting and all of Honor’s memories of that fateful night come slamming into her. Jared realises just how broken Honor is and now having her on his tour isn’t as important, he just wants Honor for himself.

Will Jared be able to help heal Honor’s scars and get her back to where she belongs, on stage? Will Honor open her heart again to this fabulously strong and talented musician? Will Honor go on tour with Jared and what about her own music career, will she sing the songs hidden away in drawers?

Watch as Jared becomes Honor’s champion and the strength of this woman that has been scarred come back to life. Fabulously written and with surprises along the way, Made In Nashville is certainly a must read for all romance readers.
