The whispers of the dead assault her ears and mirrors seem to come frighteningly to life. She’s never needed her team of zombie slayers more—including her boyfriend, Cole—than she does now. I absolutely loved Alice in Zombieland and couldn’t wait to read book two, Through the Zombie Glass and I just have to stay, HOLY MOLY! This was certainly different from book one, but no less incredible. Ms Showalter is a fabulous author and this series certainly stands out to me as the best zombie young adult series ever. I need more!

Alice Bell is a sixteen year old that has a problem, she can see zombies and they hunt her. Ali’s parents and sister died in a car accident on her sixteenth birthday and her life has changed so dramatically since. Now living with her Grandmother, Ali seems to be susceptible to almost dying on a regular basis. Plus she is given the zombie antidote that often that it seems not to be as potent as before. Will she turn zombie?

Cole is devastated that he injured Ali, almost killing her and is blocking his emotions. Their visions are not happening and new slayers arrive from Atlanta. Ali has visions with Gavin and Cole is horrified and beyond jealous, he doesn’t like the idea of Ali and Gavin having visions that seem to be intimate.

Cole becomes distant and doesn’t hang out with Ali any more. She finds him at a club and it seems Cole cannot handle the jealousy that comes from Gavin and Ali’s visions, he doesn’t want her around him anymore and she is excluded from slaying duties.

At the school football game, Ali is watching with her friends. Gavin appears and wants to chat, a group of zombies attack and they fight. Ali is bitten and it seems this bite is different from others, something strange is happening to her.

There is a darkness inside her that is trying to overtake her soul and if she looks in the mirror, her image is of an evil zombie looking Ali. She is fighting to urge to eat her friends and fight the darkness inside her. With Ali going to war inside her soul, Cole knows she is different and with Veronica (Cole’s ex arriving from Atlanta) around, everything has turned awkward.

Will the visions with Gavin come true? Will Cole get over his jealousy and admit his love for Ali? Can Ali fight off Zombie Ali or will she succumb to the darkness?

With secrets galore, hidden evil zombies, mystery, betrayal, love and loyalty; Through the Zombie Glass is another fantastic instalment in the series. Ali makes friends, loses friends, and finds strength, let’s go of her mental blocks and lets the power flow. Ali is a true teenager, but with abilities and determination she can accomplish anything. I highly recommend this series to all young adult fantasy readers.
