5* Book Review of Masked Innocence by Alessandra Torre

Summary: The man was sinful. It wasn't just the looks that made him dangerous, it was the cocky confidence that dominated every move, every touch. And the frustrating yet ecstatic fact about the whole package was that he could back it all up…

Julia Campbell never knows what to expect with win-at-all-costs Brad De Luca. And she's starting to like it that way. She gave up safe, conventional relationships when she let the elite divorce attorney seduce her into his world. Now that he's determined to strip her naked of every inhibition, she's in danger of falling too deep and too fast.

But their affair begins to feel even more dangerous when a murder leaves a trail of suspicion that points straight to the mob…and Brad. Trusting a man with a bad reputation and a past full of secrets seems like a mistake. But when she's forced to make a choice, the consequences will take her further than she could ever have imagined.

Well, wow! I totally loved Blindfolded Innocence and couldn’t wait to see where Masked Innocence led; I was definitely not disappointed. This is another fabulous read by Alessandra Torre and I cannot wait to read The End of Innocence very soon. Julia and Brad are certainly lovable characters and I love how much they are willing to change for each other. I was certainly left wanting more and needing answers. Cannot WAIT!

Julia Campbell is an intern at Clarke, De Luca and Broward and her internship is coming to an end. With the offer of an extension or part time work, Julia is excited about her prospects. The only problem is her secret love affair with Brad De Luca. Julia is guilty for having to hide their affair, but doesn’t want to lose her job and doesn’t want to give up Brad either.

Brad’s pushing Julia’s boundaries when it comes to intimacy and Julia is finding herself enjoying every minute. When they venture to a special party together, Julia doesn’t know what to expect and she is anxious. Brad the ever female protector, spots a man that won’t take no for an answer, Brad intervenes and soon the three become a threesome. Julia thought she would be jealous, but there is no connection between the other woman and Brad, so it only excites Julia more.

A murder has been committed and Julia thinks she knows who did it, but when the mob family is mentioned, everything becomes extremely dangerous for Julia. It seems she is being hunted by the crime syndicate now and Brad tries to help with his connections. The only problems is how close are those connections between Brad and the family? When some of Brad’s secrets slip to Julia she is confused and frightened. Will she run?

Julia and Brad are becoming closer to loving each other, but will she survive the crime families threats? What is Brad willing to do to help Julia escape their clutches? Can Julia move past Brad’s ability to panty-drop every woman in close proximity? Will Julia’s secret be found out at work?

This is a very exciting instalment in the series and I just couldn’t put it down. The tension between Brad and Julia was thick and with the added suspense and death threats that Julia deals with, this is definitely a must read series. I loved the relationship that develops between Julia and Brad’s housekeeper, it’s humorous and lovely. It is certainly a test to their relationship and I can’t wait to see if they survive in The End of Innocence.
